GIPLC to the rescue of baby born with broken backbone, others

Global Initiative for Peace, Love and Care (GIPLC) have come to the rescue of one year old Desire Covenant Akpan who was born with a broken backbone. Desire Covenant Akpan broke his backbone while still in this mother’s womb.

Mr. Convenant Akpan from Akwa Ibom State, the father of the child, and his wife, who are based in Lagos have been trying desparately to raise N1 million for Surgery/treatment since he was born. They contacted Mr. Nuhu Kwajafa, the Cordinator of GIPLC on Facebook and Mr. Kwajafa who has dedicated his life to the work of saving the underprivileged quickly made available the resources needed for the operation on the child.

Another special case is that of Raphael from an IDP camp in Benue. He has been with GIPLC for over one year. When he was brought from makurdi last year the doctor couldn’t perform surgery on him because he was malnourished so GIPlC had keep him and take care of him for a year eating and living well. At the moment he is at the National hospital, he has had 3 surgeries already to repairs the lips.

From 30th June, 2021 to 3rd July, 2021, GIPLC has given out N4,610,000 (Four milllion, six hundred and ten thousand naira) to children for various surgeries.

On 30/06/2021 GIPLC donated 500k to Asiya Aliu who has been in the hospital since April with an outstanding bill which the hospital are threatening to stop treatment, she had tetanus infection which wasn’t treated on time. She just got out of coma.

The sams day 250k was donated to 6months old Abdul Mohammed was born prematurely, spent 3months in the incubator and is suffering from Jaundice.

On 01/07/2021 the sum of N2 million was donated to Chimjindum Chinenyeze who has a hole in the heart and N560k to 4 years old Raphael who was born with lips deformity. He has undergone three surgeries with one more to go.

On 03/07/2021 N1 million was donated to 1 year old Desire Convenant who was born with a broken back.

Then on 06/07/2021, N300,000 was donated to 7 mouth old Joseph Idowu who was born with water in the brain.

From January till date GIPLC has spent over N100 million towards helping underprivileged, from paying their medical bills outrightly to subsidizing medical bills to supplying materials to orphanages, supply wheelchairs to the disable, sending cash to families to feed this period and other interventions.

GIPLC Cordinator, Nuhu Kwajaffa, thanks all the people who have donated and continue to donate to the organization to help the needy.
